Love at the Root

I love the Lord my God with all my heart and all my soul and all my might.

hen asked the greatest commandment, Jesus quoted “…you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your might.” The God that Jesus presents is a loving, available Father who provides for his children. Jesus knew that we have a direct connection with God: the one Presence. Jesus taught to love our enemies, because the Father dwells within them.

God is the root of all things, all people; and God is love. There is only love or fear, and God is love. Fear is like darkness, it cannot exist with love, so when we love the Lord our God with all we are, there is no room for fear. Let us love God.

Deuteronomy 6:4-5, “Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God is one Lord; And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your might.”
