Follow

I willingly follow the promptings of the Christ within me.

n the New Testament, Paul gives partial lists of Spiritual Gifts in several places, speaking of forms of leadership and miracles. One gift he does not mention, though, is the ability to follow the promptings of our Divine Nature, the Christ within.

It is not unusual to have our first response to a prompting be, “Well, that’s rather silly,” or “I don’t really want to do that.” Many in the Bible argue with the Lord. Sometimes they, and we, refuse or try to bargain against these inner promptings, but how much better would it be to follow from the first? When we do find ourselves arguing with those inner promptings, we know it is time to stop, submit, and follow.

Job 22:21-22, “Make now an agreement with God, and offer to him of your good crops. Receive the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in your heart.”
