Mosaics and Tapestries

My life has meaning. It is greater than the moment or the aspect I see.

hen we look at a mosaic, we do not concentrate on individual tiles. When we look at a tapestry, we do not focus only on individual threads. We look to the overall pattern that the elements make up taken together. We cannot see the overall picture while standing too closely to mosaics or tapestries.

When we get bogged down in the details of our lives, we cannot see the greater picture. We need to step back and look again at the whole. Our lives have meaning. They are greater than the details we usually see while making them. They have an overall pattern that might be vastly greater than the momentary concerns surrounding us.

Step back and know the whole.

Isaiah 46:10, “Declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure,”
